President's Message

Can you believe it’s already February? They say it’s the shortest month of the year, but we’ve managed to pack it with enough excitement to fill a leap year! We’re kicking things off by spreading the love during Kindness Week, where our students prove that being a good human never goes out of style. Of course, the sugar high, I mean, the "spirit of friendship", will be in full swing during our classroom Valentine’s Day celebrations. Check in with your teacher or room parent to see what they may need to help!

But wait, there’s more! Our highly anticipated Teacher Experience Auctions will soon be live; if you’ve ever wanted your child to win a party with their favorite educator or a chance to be "Principal for a Day," now is your moment to bid! Finally, dust off your dancing shoes and get ready for the Sweetheart Dance, the perfect way to wrap up a month focused on community and connection. It’s going to be a blast, and we can’t wait to see you there!

A Note About Safety

Just last week a child riding their bike on the corner of Encino and Ontario was hit by a car. Thankfully the child did not sustain any serious injuries, however this is a reminder that we all need to be extra careful, and it is imperative that we all do our share in keeping our children safe during drop-off and pick-up. For example, keep your speed low, no u-turns out of the pick-up line/in front of the school, and double check cross walk areas for children crossing. If you plan to get out of your car, you must park in the lot, the pick up line is meant for passenger loading and unloading. The 1-2 minutes you may be saving by performing one of these dangerous maneuvers is not worth compromising the safety of a child.

Kids Against Hunger

Kids Against Hunger is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing nutritious meals to children and families facing hunger around the world. Through hands-on service, students help assemble meal kits that are shipped to communities in need.

Parent volunteers are needed to assist with student organization, weighing and sealing the bags, and boxing the completed meals for shipment. This is a heartwarming opportunity for students to experience the joy of helping others, but the event would not be possible without the support of our amazing parent volunteers.
